eah,
like I didn't see this coming," was Evil Eye executive Kenten Bowick's
reply, after announcing that the debut of Evil Eye's newest comic
strip would be delayed two weeks.
"The powers that be decided to push the newspaper's premier issue
back two weeks, so obviously, the comic strip will be pushed back two
weeks also."
Originally given only five days to decide on a concept and produce
the first strip, Kenten admits that "the extra time could come in
handy, though we decided last week to go with a Chuck Loves the
World strip, sort of as a companion with the upcoming graphic
novel. But now that we have more time, maybe we'll rethink that."
The strip originally scheduled for publication June 30th had already
been written and drawn before receiving the announcement that it would
be put on hold, Kenten said. "The sad thing is that we
wrote that strip to specifically tie in with local news that week,
and now it'll be irrelevent."
Kenten was quick to explain that even though each strip may tie in
with local news events, they will still stand alone for a non-local
audience.
"I'm just tying in local issues so that the strip will be
accessable to everyone," he said. "But they'll make sense to anyone
who happens across the Chuck website."
